(Spencer)-- Minor injuries were reported Saturday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of two county roads in Clay county. The Sheriff’s Office says 81-year-old William Myers of Dickens was southbound on 300th Avenue when he failed to obey a stop sign at the intersection with 480th Street. Authorities say Myers’ vehicle then collided with an eastbound vehicle on 480th Street driven by 45-year-old Daniel Draper of Mallard. Both vehicles came to rest in the northeast ditch.

Minor injuries were reported to Draper, but he apparently didn’t seek immediate treatment. No injuries were reported to Myers who was cited with failure to obey a traffic control device. Draper was cited for no insurance.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Webb Fire and Rescue.

The collision took place shortly after 4:00 p.m.
