Collision On North Edge Of Milford Sends One Person To Hospital

(Milford)-- A two-vehicle collision this (Wed.) morning at the intersection of 28th Street and Highway 71 on the north edge of Milford sent one person to the hospital. Milford police say 35-year-old Christina Kaiser of Milford was traveling on 28th Street and had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection Highway 71. Authorities say she then turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Mary Myers of Milford who was northbound on Highway 71.

Myers complained of back pain and was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. No injuries were reported to Kaiser.

$3,000 in damage was estimated to a 2000 Buick LeSabre driven by Myers; damage to a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Kaiser was estimated at $5,000.

Police say charges are pending.

The collision took place around 7:45 a.m.

The Milford Police Department was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Milford Fire and Rescue.
