Mon 11-30-2015

(Windom, Mn.)-- A collision of two semis Sunday evening at the intersection of Highways 60 and 86 in Windom sent one person to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol says 58-year-old Bradley Bucholz of Truesdale was northbound on Highway 86 and was turning eastbound onto Highway 60 when he pulled in front of a 2005 Kenworth driven by 29-year-old Derek Rogers of Logan, Utah. Troopers say Rogers couldn't move to the left lane due to traffic and attempted to slow down to avoid the collision, but was unable to do so. His rig collided with the rear of the trailer pulled by the Freightliner driven by Bucholz.

Rogers was taken by ambulance to the Windom hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Bucholz.

No damage was reported to the Freightliner tractor driven by Bucholz with moderate damage to the Great Dane trailer it was pulling; the Kenworth driven by Rogers was totaled with no damage to the trailer.

The collision took place shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Cottonwood and Jackson County Sheriff's Offices, the Windom Police Department and the Windom Fire Department.
