Collision Of Two Pickups Results In No Injuries But A Considerable Amount Of Property Damage
(Primghar)-- No injuries were reported but authorities say there was a considerable amount of property damage in a two-vehicle collision this past Tuesday in O'Brien county.
The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Edgar Portillo Rivera of Waterloo was driving a 2017 Ford F-350 westbound on County Road B24 and 39-year-old Travis Dagel of Worthington was driving a 2015 Ford F350 northbound on Vine Avenue. Portillo Rivera told deputies he couldn't stop at the intersection due to the weight of a trailer he was pulling. Dagel's vehicle then broadsided the trailer. The trailer came unhitched from Portillo Rivera's pickup and rolled in the ditch, coming to rest on its top.
$5,000 in damage was estimated to the pickup driven by Portillo Rivera; the pickup Dagel was driving was totaled.
Portillo Rivera was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right-of-way.
