Collision In I-90 Construction Zone Claims Two Lives

(Jackson, Mn.)-- Two people were killed Monday evening when a minivan and motorcycle collided head-on in a construction zone on Interstate 90 near Jackson. The victims are identified as the driver of the motorcycle, 67-year-old Richard Hedeen of Davenport, and a passenger on the bike, 66-year-old Francois Hedeen, also of Davenport.

The driver of the minivan, 40-year-old Sharon Rowlet of West Des Moines, was taken to Sanford Hospital in Jackson with non life-threatening injuries.

Troopers say the motorcycle veered across the center line and collided with the minivan. Both vehicles were totaled.

The collision took place shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the Jackson Fire Department and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
