Collision At Intersection Of Two County Roads East Of Superior Sends Three People To The Hospital
(Superior)-- A two-vehicle collision Wednesday at the intersection of County Roads A-20 and N-22 on the Dickinson-Emmet county line sent three people to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 31-year-old Amanda Bruender of Estherville was driving a 2006 Nissan northbound on County Road N-22 and 46-year-old Stephanie Egeland of Estherville was driving a 2010 Buick westbound on County Road A-20 when the two collided.
Egeland was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by mechanical means.
Both drivers were transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville with non-incapacitating injuries, along with a child passenger in Buender's vehicle.
$10,000 in damage was estimated to both vehicles.
Egeland was cited with failure to yield.
The collision took place around 9:18 am.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Emmet and Dickinson County Sheriff's Offices, Superior Fire and Rescue, the Lakes Area Extrication unit and two ambulance crews from Lakes Regional Healthcare.
