Clock Ticking for Iowa Legislature to Pass Funding for Water Quality Initiatives
Tue 4-19-2016
(Spirit Lake)-- With the clock ticking on this session of the Iowa Legislature, many say they’ve lost out hope on any bill being passed that would fund water quality projects. But John Torbert of the Iowa Drainage District Association says he remains cautiously optimistic something will get passed yet in the closing days of the session...
Torbert says an ag appropriations bill that came up for consideration this (Tues.) morning in the Senate does have some water quality funding in it.
Torbert made his comments while presenting the Iowa Drainage District Association’s annual report at this (Tues.) morning’s Dickinson county board of supervisors meeting.
