Clean Up Day In Okoboji Set For Monday, June 7th
(Okoboji)-- The city of Okoboji will hold a spring clean-up day this coming Monday, June 7th. City Administrator Michael Meyers says it will be that one day only, and crews will only be making one pass through town...
"Clean up day is designated to pick up most items that are not normally picked up with regular garbage collection and for residential use only. So some of the things that we won't pick up will include hazardous materials such as batteries, paint, insecticide and other hazardous waste, and as far as planks, boards, things of that nature, we'll pick that up we just ask that you cut them down not to exceed six foot in length. The city DOES pick up things like appliances, electronics, televisions, stuffed furniture, tires, but those do still require a tag even on clean up day. So if you'd like to dispose of those items please give City Hall a call, 712-332-2550 and we'll get you a tag for that day. And also just so our residents know we do pick up those items any day with a tag so that service is available throughout the year."
Meyers says Okoboji residents should have items placed at the curb no later than 7:00 am that day.
