Clay County Traffic Stop Results In Arrests Of Two People
(Spencer)-- A traffic stop Friday night in Clay county resulted in the arrests of two people on drug charges. The sheriff's office says a deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw bag allegedly containing the substance. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what's alleged to be drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Ashlee Boothby, and a passenger, Tony Smith, both of Spencer, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance...marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were being held in the Clay county jail on bond of $1,000 cash or surety.
The stop was made shortly after 11:00 pm Friday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 360th Street in Clay county.
