Clay County Fair Goers Will Notice More Changes At Centennial Plaza Area

(Spencer)-- Clay County Fair goers will notice some improvements this year to the Centennial Plaza area. Fair General Manager/CEO Jeremy Parsons says the additions will preserve the memories of what once stood at that location...
"This year the introduction of the entrance structures, kind of some towers to remind, to help us remember what used to be there of course which was the Ag Building, but also then for our youngest fair goers tiny town will fill some of that space with a lot of interactive play experiences for them."
As far as future improvements go, Parsons says the next big one will involve the cattle barn...
"A facility that can really last us for maybe another 100 years, and it's time to look at some improvements as we continue to make changes here on the fairgrounds and improve. Over two million dollars in capital improvements in the last three years; now we need to look at a project like the cattle barn."
Parsons says the cattle barn is now one of the oldest buildings on the grounds.
And speaking of ag, Parsons says they've once again sold out of space for ag-related exhibitors, with about 150 that will be on hand. Parsons says that's even in spite of the downturn of the farm economy.
