Clay County Authorities Seek Assistance In Gas Drive-Offs
(Peterson)-- Clay county authorities are asking for the public's assistance as they investigate a couple of gas drive-offs.
The Sheriff's Office says the first incident occurred shortly after 2:00 pm on February 28th at the Ampride station in Peterson. Authorities say a passenger in a blue GMC Jimmy got out of the vehicle and pumped $31.73 in gas. The person then got back into the vehicle without paying. Authorities say the vehicle then went east bound on Highway 10.
Deputies say on Friday, March 3rd, around 7:41 pm the same vehicle pulled into the same station, once again pumped gas, and left without paying. An attendant tried to get a license plate, but it was covered in mud.
