Clay County Authorities Looking For Driver Of Semi Involved In A Hit & Run
(Spencer)-- Authorities are searching for a driver who left the scene of an accident Friday morning.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred at about 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and County Highway M50, southeast of Spencer, Iowa.
The sheriff's office says Vicky Colon of Ruthven, Iowa, was traveling east on Highway 18 when she met semi traveling westbound on the highway. Authorities say the trailer of the semi lost control and struck the driver's side of Colon's vehicle.
Colon was not injured in the accident. Her 2014 Chevy Traverse took an estimated $3000 worth of damage.
The semi did not stop at the scene and authorities have not located the driver or vehicle at this time.
