City Officials In Spencer Announce Sale Of Spec Building
(Spencer)-- City officials in Spencer say a spec building in the city's Green Industrial Park has been sold to MWI Components of Spencer, which plans to expand.
A buyer had been sought for the 40,000 square foot building since it was constructed in 2009.
City Manager Amanda Mack says MWI Components is planning to request tax increment financing to help with the project.
In a written statement, Kiley Miller, CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, congratulated city officials on their hard work and diligence in finding a buyer for the building.
The Spencer City Council Monday evening approved a memorandum of intent in selling the spec building.
MWI Components hasn't announced a time frame yet for their planned expansion.
