Citations Issued Against Everly Man In Connection With A Collision In Sioux County That Injured A Teen
(Sioux Center)-- Citations have been issued against an Everly man in connection with a two-vehicle collision Tuesday that sent one person to the hospital.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Trevor Engeltjes of Everly was driving a 2006 Ford pickup pulling a livestock trailer and 17-year-old Pieter Westerbeek V of Sioux Center was driving a 2007 pickup westbound when the two collided at an intersection.
Westerbeek was taken by ambulance to the Sioux Center hospital.
Damage to the pickup driven by Engeltjes was estimated at $25,000; the pickup driven by Westerbeek sustained an estimated $20,000 in damage.
Engeltjes was cited for failure to yield and operating a vehicle with expired registration.
The collision took place a little after 3:30 pm.
