Child Abuse Investigation Results In Arrest Of Man On Multiple Charges
(Estherville)-- An investigation by Estherville police has resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple charges.
Police say it stems from a report they received last Friday of possible child abuse involving a two-year-old girl. The child was taken to Avera Holy Family Hospital for treatment.
As part of their investigation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant at 202 South 13th street, apartment 6 in Estherville. They found drug paraphernalia and prescription pills. A short time later police went to 1006 Central Avenue where they located the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Kenny Peaches of South St. Paul, Minnesota. He was taken into custody after leading officers on a short foot pursuit.
Peaches was arrested and charged with interference with official acts, neglect of a dependent child, child endangerment with bodily injury, child endangerment, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Peaches was booked into the Emmet county jail on a $20,000 bond.
Authorities say he was also wanted on a warrant from Ramsey county, Minnesota.
