Cherokee Man Charged In Traffic Incident In Sioux County

(Orange City)-- A Cherokee man faces several charges stemming from a traffic incident around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of two roads in Sioux county. Upon investigating deputies determined 23-year-old Patrick Schwebach of Cherokee allegedly drove a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado in a dangerous manner while trying to stop a 2006 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 20-year-old Emily Te Slaa of Orange City. Authorities say Schwebach allegedly tried to pass Te Slaa, then applied the brakes of his vehicle, causing Te Slaa to strike Schwebach’s vehicle. Deputies say Schwebach then allegedly approached Te Slaa’s vehicle in a threatening manner before leaving.
No injuries were reported.
Schwebach was arrested for assault, reckless driving and harassment.
