Central Bank expands food drive to help fire victims Central Bank has expanded their donation drive to help victims of last weekend's apartment fire.

Vice President Brett Johnson says, the bank had already planned a food drive in conjunction with "Red Out Night" at Spirit Lake High this Friday.

"Central Bank had already lined up a fundraiser for Upper Des Moines, it's a food drive and we're collecting canned food and toiletry items in conjunction with the Red Out Night, so in exchange for canned food items, we're giving away Spirit Lake Indians tee shirts to support Boys and Girls Basketball games on Friday night against Cherokee.

What we wanted to do was add cash or check donations to earmark specifically for those displaced by the apartment fire over the weekend."

He adds that donations may be dropped off at Central Bank in Spirit Lake through Friday afternoon.

"They can bring them straight to Central Bank and drop them off anytime between 8 and 5, and for 4 canned food items or toiletry items, or a cash donation, they'll get an Indians tee shirt>"

He notes that checks should be made payable to Upper Des Moines Opportunity.

Central Bank is located at 1400 18th Street in Spirit Lake.
