Census Forms Being Distributed
(Undated)-- The U.S. Census Bureau says it will start dropping off questionnaire packets at the front doors of households in Iowa this week.
Officials say this is being done in areas where the majority of households do not receive mail at their physical address.
The Census Bureau began hand-delivering census materials March 15th but suspended the operations a few days later due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A news release says temporary field staff have been trained to observe social distancing protocols and will wear official government-provided personal protective equipment, adding they'll follow current federal health and safety guidelines.
Officials say the operation is crucial to ensure a complete and accurate count of all communities which helps guide hundreds of billions of dollars in public and private sector spending per year.
