Cement Truck Crash Sends One Person To The Hospital

(Rock Rapids)-- Authorities in Lyon county have released information into a crash on Friday that sent one person to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office says it happened around 12:30 at an intersection north of Rock Rapids.

Authorities say 50-year-old Terry Lamar of Little Rock was driving a 2000 Sterling cement truck owned by Tri State Ready mix of Rock Valley and that he was attempting to turn when he lost control on the snow and slush-covered road. The truck went into the west ditch and overturned, coming to rest on the driver's side.

Lamar was taken by personal vehicle to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids for treatment of possible injuries.

The truck was totaled.

Lamar was cited for failure to maintain control.
