CCF Offering Three New Classes This Year In Textiles, Crafts & Art Dept. In Commemoration Of Centennial Celebration

Mon 6-26-2017

(Spencer)-- Three new classes of competition will be offered this year in the Clay County Fair's textiles, crafts and art department. Fair officials say the new classes are based on this year's centennial theme “Come Home”. They add the new classes will create new opportunities for exhibitors to bring home ribbons, gift certificates, special awards and cash premiums.

One of the new competitions is a special “coming home” centennial display, allowing participants to enter past blue-ribbon winning entries. Others include a batik fabric quilt class and a theme class for “Coming Home” wallhangings made of fabric.

The new competitions are in addition to the hundreds of other classes that include painting, drawing, quilting, needlework, garment making and woodworking.

No entry fee is charged and exhibitors do not need to be residents of Clay county. A first-time exhibitor class is also available. More information can be found at

Entries will be accepted from 12 Noon until 7:00 pm September 1st and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on September 2nd, or anytime prior if mailed to the fair.

This year's Clay County Fair will be held September 9th-17th.
