Carroll Man Faces Multiple Charges Following Incident Late Friday Night In Spirit Lake
(Spirit Lake)-- An incident late Friday night in Spirit Lake landed a Carroll, Iowa man in jail on multiple charges.
Spirit Lake police say they were called around 11:00 pm to the Walmart parking lot after the Dickinson County Communications Center received an incomplete 911 call from that location.
Upon arriving officers found 18-year-old Buomkuoth Lol of Carroll and a female juvenile in a vehicle, and that they could smell marijuana coming from it.
During a search, police found a handgun on Lol's person. Lol then fled on foot and a pursuit ensued. Officers then lost site of Lol. The Estherville Police Department's K-9 was called to the scene and was able to track down Lol, who was taken into custody.
Lol was booked in the Dickinson county jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, interference with official acts in possession of a firearm, carrying weapons, providing false identification information, driving while suspended and minor in possession of alcohol.
The juvenile was released to the custody of her parents.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, the Estherville, Okoboji, Arnolds Park and Milford Police Departments and the Iowa State Patrol.
