(Windom, Mn.)-- A two vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 60 at 460th Avenue just south of Windom near the Jackson-Cottonwood county line sent two people to the hospital. The Minnesota State Patrol says 16-year-old Miranda Rummens of Windom was driving a 2015 Honda Accord northbound and was proceeding to the median to continue onto Highway 60. Authorities say at the same time a semi driven by 54-year-old Darryl Flynn of Catawba North Carolina was westbound when the two collided.

Rummens and Flynn were both taken by ambulance to the Windom Hospital.

Both the car and the semi, a 2000 Western Star conventional, were totaled.

The crash took place shortly before 4:30 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Windom Fire Department and ambulance, the Cottonwood and Jackson County Sheriff’s Offices and the Windom Police Department.
