(Okoboji)-Many property owners are experiencing dead oak trees around the Iowa Great Lakes area, as the Burr Oak blight is becoming more prevalent.

A common leafspot fungus, Tubakia dryina, was initially thought to be the cause of the blight on bur oak, but closer examination showed that the cause was a new species of Tubakia.
