Blowing Snow Causing Headaches On East-West Roads
Fri 2-5-2016
(Lakefield, Mn.)-- Blowing snow is causing headaches for motorists in southwest Minnesota. Scores of accidents are being reported on Interstate 90 in Jackson and Nobles counties. Some injuries have been reported in some of the crashes, most of them involving rollovers.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and State Patrol say snow is blowing across east/west roads, sticking, melting and re-freezing, causing ice to form.
It's also starting to become a problem on some east-west roads in northwest Iowa, including stretches of Highway 9 between Harris and Estherville.
Anyone with travel plans this (Fri.) afternoon should allow for plenty of extra time and drive according to conditions.
