Thu 9-24-2015
(Sheldon)-- Authorities say charges may be pending in a single-vehicle crash this past Saturday that injured a Sheldon man.
Sheriff's deputies say 27-year-old Brenton Delaney of Sheldon was southbound on Highway 60 when he lost control. Authorities say the vehicle went into the west ditch and rolled. It then caught on fire.
Delaney, who was able to get out of the vehicle on his own, was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital.
$8,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
Authorities say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
It happened just before 10:00 p.m.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, the Sheldon Police Department and the Sheldon ambulance.
