Ashton man arrested on multiple drug charges

(Ashton)-The Osceola County Sheriff's Department says Deputies arrested James Steven Kolbeck, age 54, of Ashton on March 14, after obtaining and executing a search warrant at his residence.

During the search, meth, marijuana, cocaine, LSD and drug paraphernalia were seized. Kolbeck was also found to be in possession of stolen property. There was evidence of a marijuana grow operation and a butane honey/hash oil (BHO) lab located in one of the outbuildings.

Kolbeck was charged with the alleged offenses; Possession with intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a class “B” felony, Possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense (LSD), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd or subsequent offense (Cocaine), Manufacturing marijuana, all class “D” felonies, Prohibited acts, an aggravated misdemeanor, three counts of Possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended, all simple misdemeanors.

Kolbeck was transported to the Osceola County Jail where he was being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
