Arnolds Park Man Injured After Tractor He Was Driving Was Rear-ended By A Pickup On Hwy 71 South Of Milford
(Milford)-- An Arnolds Park man was injured today (Mon.) when a tractor he was driving was rear-ended by a pickup. It happened shortly after Noon in the 2500 block of Highway 71 south of Milford.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Matt Steffes of Arnolds Park was driving a John Deere 4520 tractor pulling a scraper northbound. Authorities say 39-year-old Christopher Cavin of Hartley was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota, and was also traveling northbound, when he collided with the rear of the tractor. The tractor continued on about another 100 feet before stopping.
Authorities say Steffes collapsed after getting off the tractor. He was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare.
Cavin declined immediate medical treatment.
Cavin was cited with failure to provide proof of insurance.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Milford and Arnolds Park Police Departments, the Iowa State Patrol, Milford Fire and Rescue, Bud's Towing of Spencer and Bob's Towing of Milford.
