Arnolds Park City Council Hears Update On State Pier Project
(Arnolds Park)-- The Arnolds Park City Council Wednesday heard an update from a representative of Imagine Iowa Great Lakes regarding plans for a major revamp of the State Pier. The council was informed the DNR has granted a permit allowing the project to proceed, with work to get underway as conditions allow this spring. An engineer overseeing the project told the city council the contractor is in the process of ordering materials.
The State Pier project is being done in conjunction with the construction of a boardwalk along the waterfront at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park, which is also being funded by Imagine Iowa Great Lakes.
The State Pier project is slated for completion July 4th but officials say that obviously will be dependent upon weather.
