Another Reminder About Availability Of COVID-19 Home Test Kits

Fri 7-16-2021

(Undated)-- Free take-home COVID-19 test kits are being made available as all Test Iowa sites will be shutting down at the end of the day today (Fri.).

In Clay county, the kits can be obtained at the Emergency Department at Spencer Hospital. As we reported previously, home test kits for Dickinson county residents are available by contacting Dickinson County Public Health at 339-6050.

The kits are self-administered by providing a saliva sample, which is then sent to the State Hygienic Lab. Results will then be emailed. Each kit contains step-by-step instructions.

Specimens will be processed at the lab within 24 hours of receipt.

For those in Dickinson county, COVID-19 testing is still being done at Lakes Regional Family Medicine. Those tests involve the nasal swab.
