Andrea Tonsfeldt returns to PLAC with production of Detainee Spirit Lake High Graduate and former Performing Arts Director at the Pearson Lakes Art Center, Andrea Tonsfeldt returns to the Iowa Great lakes with the world premiere of the play Detainee

Tonsfeldt says she started Mission Theatre Company several years ago.

"Well, I kept saying that I wanted to start a theatre company, because it is something that I always wanted to do from the time that I decided that theatre was going to be my life.  I just kept saying, oh, well when I grow up or when I get old, when I get more established, and I was sitting in a rehearsal for the Lakes Community Theatre one day and  I went - now's the time to do it!

So, I did start it, I started it in May of '08."

Tonsfeldt now makes the Twin Cities her home, and adds that the play was written by a Minnesota playwright.

"We did a 2 week run here, up in the Twin Cities.  A local playwright, Sam Graber, who lives in Minnetonka, he's one of our resident playwrights and he wrote the script for us to premiere.  So, it is a world premiere production, and this is also our first foray into touring outside of the Twin Cities."

The Mission Theatre Company's performance of Detainee will begin at 7:30 Friday evening at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji.
