Alliant Energy Says It's Distribution System Isn't Being Affected By Challenges Other Utilities Are Experiencing
(Cedar Rapids)-- Officials with Alliant Energy announced this (Monday) they are not experiencing issues other utility providers in the region are currently undergoing.
Alliant Energy spokesman Mike Wagoner says their electricity distribution is through an organization known as "MISO" and not the Southwest Power Pool, which has been experiencing issues with supply and a huge demand brought on by the extreme cold.
Wagner says even though demand has also greatly increased for Alliant Energy's customers, that supply shouldn't be an issue. However he says customers will see the impact of greater consumption reflected in their utility bills. Because of that, Wagoner says Alliant Energy is also encouraging their customers to cut back on usage where possible
