Additional Details Released Into Test Iowa Site That Will Open Next Week In Dickinson County
(Spirit Lake)-- Local health officials have announced additional details into a Test Iowa site that will be opening at Noon Monday (June 22nd) in Spirit Lake.
Those wanting to get tested at the site will first need to complete an online assessment at testiowa.com. Once that's done, you will receive an email from TestIowa.com that includes a bar code. You will need to print the bar code or take a screen shot of it and take that with you to the Test Iowa site. It will be located just west of the Expo Building and behind the show barns. Those utilizing the site are asked to enter the fairgrounds from the west entrance off of 15th street and follow the signs. Appointments won't be needed. You are asked to wear a mask and be sure to have the bar code with you along with personal identification such as your driver's license.
The site will be open Monday (June 22nd) from 12 Noon until 5:00 pm. Beginning Tuesday (June 23rd) it will be open weekdays from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Officials say the test results will be emailed back to you, usually within 48 to 72 hours. You will also be able to obtain the results by at the Test Iowa patient portal by entering your bar code number. If the results are positive, further instruction will be provided.
The Test Iowa tests will be available free of charge to any Iowa resident regardless of symptoms or potential exposure to the virus.
Public health officials say anyone with COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, diarrhea, loss of taste or smell, headache and muscle aches should call the Lakes Regional Healthcare Respiratory Clinic at 336-6696 for guidance on whether it's best to receive a test at the Respiratory Clinic at Lakes Regional Healthcare or the Test Iowa location.
