A Presumptive Positive Case Of Coronovirus Now Being Reported In Jackson County
(Windom, Mn.)-- Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services now says there is a presumptive positive case of novel coronovirus (COVID-19) in Jackson county. The person is in their 40's who has a travel history.
Health officials say the patient developed mild symptoms earlier this week and sought medical care. The patient is currently isolated at home.
Kelsey Andrews, Des Moines Valley Health and Human Service Public Health Director says they are working with the Minnesota Department of Public Health to evaluate where the person had traveled to and who they might have come in contact with. People identified will be asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days from their exposure date and will be monitored for symptoms.
The latest report brings the total number of positive cases in Minnesota to 138, with one death in the state.
An update from Iowa is expected later today (Saturday).
