3rd Annual Fright Hike at Fort Defiance State Park October 31st
(Estherville)-With Halloween on Saturday this year, the Estherville Chamber of Commerce has activities planned for all ages. Executive Director Lexie Ruter explains.
"We have tons going on in Estherville, we have something for every age group and thrill-seeker out there on Halloween this year. We have city-wide trick or treating from 5:30 to 7:30 Saturday evening, and then we have different events for different age categories throughout the day, and you can find all of those on the Estherville website."
For those who dare, the 3rd Annual Fright Hike at Ft. Defiance State Park takes place Saturday night.
"The Fright Hike is a haunted hike through Ft. Defiance State Park, it's a half-mile trail in the forest and it's a lot of fun, it's a $5.00 entry fee and that does go back to the Chamber and to the Friends of Ft. Defiance group which is the group that maintains the Park. We have really upped our game this year. When we started this 3 years ago, we were on a shoestring budget, I did it on a whim just because I really love Halloween, but this year, we have really put some money and some time into it and it's going to be spooktacular."
