2020 Dickinson County 4-H & FFA Fair Is Still On...For Now
(Spirit Lake)-- The 2020 Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair is still on as of right now, but fair officials say whether or not it will actually happen depends upon what guidelines may be forthcoming from the Governor and health officials. And Susan Reiser, a member of the Dickinson County Fair Board, tells KUOO news that even if the fair IS held, it would be a lot different from previous fairs...
"It might be that the livestock is a show and go where the species is there for just one day. And it might be a shortened fair; instead of seven days it might only be three or four. We will take into consideration the number of covid cases and we're waiting for the Governor's next set of instructions sometime the week of the 18th. So after that date we will be ready to for sure say yes or no, we're going to have this fair."
She says there also would be some big changes for static exhibits...
"The static exhibits, we're, extension is kind of in charge of those, but we have heard that they're looking at a virtual type of plan. I'm not sure what that's going to encompass but once again I'm sure around the 18th we will have all of our rules and regulations ready for are 4-Her's."
The Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair is currently scheduled to run from July 17th through 23rd.
