2017 Clay County Fair To Once Again Feature Specially Themed Days
(Spencer)-- This year's Clay County Fair will once again feature some specially designated days.
Monday, September 11th is Veteran's Appreciation Day, with a parade at 10:00 am and a program 11:00 am. A patriotic music program will be at 2:00 pm. Veterans and active duty service people will receive free admission to the fair that day.
Senior Day is Tuesday, September 12th, when admission to the fair for those 65 and older is $6. Family night that same evening allows free admission to families of all ages after 5:00 pm that day.
Wednesday, September 13th is Disabilities Awareness Day; Iowa Corn Day, sponsored by the Iowa Corn Grower's Association, will be observed the following day, Thursday, September 14th; with Iowa Dairy Day, sponsored by the Western Iowa Dairy Alliance, on Friday September 15th, which is also Y100 Kids Day when Kids 18 and under are admitted free with discounts on all-day wristbands for the midway.
Science is the theme Saturday, September 16th with hands-on activities and experiments sponsored by Iowa Lakes Community College.
The final day of the fair, Sunday, september 17th, is Centennial Celebration Sunday with $5 gate admission and a centennial birthday bash at the grandstand at 7:00 pm that evening. It will include a wide variety of entertainment followed by the largest fireworks in the Fair's history.
