(Spirit Lake)-A free class on healthy aging will be offered by The Alzheimer's Association on February 8. KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Alzheimer's Association is offering a free educational class for the public on Friday, February 8 at Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake.
Keelson's Sales and Outreach Director Michelle Schwartz-Webb says it will be facilitated by a specialist with the Alzheimer's Association. "This class is 10 Ways to Love your Brain, and it will be hosted and facilitated by Amanda Brophy who is the spokesperson for the Alzheimer's Association, coming to the Lakes region from the Sioux City area. She's going to communicate with us on how science has been able to provide some insights on how to make lifestyle choices that will help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age."
She adds that the class is free, however registration is requested. "Call 800-272-3900, and we hope that everyone can join us to learn more about the research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use these hands-on tools that they will walk away with to incorporate them into a plan for healthy aging."
The class will begin at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at Keelson Harbour.
