  • The City of Estherville playground equipment will be open to the public beginning Monday, June 1, 2020. Estherville youth baseball and softball has been cancelled for this summer. Refunds for those who already registered will be issued on June 18, 2020. Ball field reservations for youth sports activities can be scheduled for or after Monday, June 1, 2020. Park users are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and personal hygiene.
  • The Spirit Lake Public Library will reopen on Monday, June 1st . The library will be open Mondays & Wednesdays from 10-4, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10-6. There will be some restrictions in place and patrons are strongly encouraged to wear masks. Patrons will be able to come in and browse for materials, use a computer or wifi, and the copying, printing, and faxing services will be available. Our very popular curbside pickup will continue.

  • The city of Orleans will NOT be holding a clean up day this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
  • Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offices in Lyon, Osceola, Dickinson, Sioux, O'Brien and Clay counties have now re-opened for APPOINTMENTS ONLY. The offices are NOT open to walk-ins, so appointments are necessary. Appointments may be made by contacting your local office: Lyon county at (712) 472-2576; Osceola county at (712) 754-3648; Dickinson county at (712) 336-3488; Sioux county at (712) 737-4230; O'Brien county at (712) 957-5045; and Clay county at (712) 262-2264.
  • Most governmental offices, including courthouses and city halls, remain closed to the public. Staff is still working in the facilities and they may be contacted by phone or email.
