Emmetsburg vs. North Union

North Union started the 1st quarter on a 11-0 run to start the game and never looked back winning 47-32.  After the 1st quarter, Emmetsburg did outscore North Union 28-27 the rest of the way but could not overcome that slow start.  The E'hawks got a game high 18 points from Bailey Naig.  North Union was led by Samantha Hagedorn with 15 points.  North Union improves to 18-3 and will play at Western Christian Friday in a semifinal game at 7 PM.  Emmetsburg finishes the season at 7-16 and graduate Bailey Naig, Kayla Joyce and Jordan Hoyman.

Okoboji vs. Rock Valley

Okoboji saw their season end on Tuesday in second round Regional action 57-45 at Rock Valley.  The Pioneers battled all night long but struggled to get into much of an offensive flow.  Okoboji did jump out to a 9-4 lead before the Rockets would tie it at 11 at the end of the first quarter.  Rock Valley used a 10-3 run late in the 2nd frame to take a 23-16 lead into the break.  The Pioneers would cut the lead to four at 32-28 but the Rockets would go on an 11-2 run at the end of the quarter to take control of the game.  Okoboji could never get the lead below 9 in the final quarter and Rock Valley salted the game away at the end.  The Pioneers were led by freshman Magan Christopherson who had 13 points and 5 rebounds; fellow freshman Camry Jones added 12 points and 11 rebounds; freshman Kallyn Stumbo chipped in with 9 points and 11 assists and junior Grace Wintz added 7 points with 5 rebounds.  Rock Valley was led by senior Sammy Blum’s 17 points.  Rock Valley moves to 16-6 on the year and will travel to West Lyon on Friday.  Okoboji ends a fine season with a record of 15-8.
