Okoboji Basketball Sweeps Sibley Ocheyedan

Girls Recap:
Okoboji used an early lead and strong third quarter to get past Sibley-Ocheyedan 57-31 on Friday night in Milford.  The Pioneers built an early 14-4 lead after one quarter.  S-O cut the lead to 26-19 at halftime, but could only score three points in the third quarter compared to 17 for Okoboji.  The Pioneers made the most of the Generals 24 turnovers, but Sibley-Ocheyedan was unable to take advantage of the Pioneers' foul trouble.  The Generals were 16-of-29 from the charity stripe on the night.  Megan Peschong led the way for Okoboji with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals.  The Pioneers are 17-3 (15-2 Siouxland) and host Sioux Center on Tuesday.  S-O got 12 points from Jill Berkland off the bench.  The Generals are 3-17 (1-16 Siouxland) and play at George-Little Rock on Tuesday.
 
Boys Recap:
Okoboji shot lights out in the first quarter and never trailed in a 71-26 victory over Sibley-Ocheyedan on Friday night in Milford.  The Generals won a one point contest the first time the two teams played back on December 22nd, but were unable to answer Okoboji's strong shooting from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers led 26-5 after one quarter, 42-10 at halftime, and 62-24 after three quarters.  Tyler Stumbo had 23 points.  Holt Hunziker hit three treys en route to a 15 point performance.  Houston Hawkins added 13 points for Okoboji.  The Pioneers hit nine three pointers in the contest as a team and improve to 7-12 (5-11 Siouxland) and host Sioux Center on Tuesday.  Carson Marco led the Generals on a cold shooting night with 8 points.  S-O is 3-16 (2-14 Siouxland).  They play at George-Little Rock on Tuesday.
