(Spirit Lake)-- The Spirit Lake school board voted unanimously Monday to name the press box at Hafer Field in memory of KUOO's long-time Sports Director Joey Elbert, who passed away earlier in the day of cancer at the age of 49.

The board took the action after hearing a request for the naming rights from John Brown and Jeff Thee.

Brown told the board the cost of the lettering has already been donated.

The board also approved a 25-thousand dollar donation from the Bob Currell family that will be used to purchase a new Daktronics scoreboard for the football field.
