Primghar Residents Sentenced On Federal Meth Charges
Thu 2-3-2005 (Sioux City)-- Two Primghar residents have been sentenced in U-S District Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute pure methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the South O'Brien Middle School in Primghar.
21-year-old Kenneth Chambers was sentenced in December of last year to 60 months in federal prison.
31-year-old Jeannie Korthals was sentenced January 21st to 90 months in federal prison in connection with the same case.
Chambers and Korthals admitted in a plea agreement that between about July 14th, 2002 and through about June, 2004 they and others agreed to manufacture, distribute and possess with the intent to distribute five grams or more of pure methamphetamine within a thousand feet of the South O'Brien Middle School.
In addition to the prison sentences, Chambers and Korthal must also each serve an eight-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
Chambers and Korthal are being held in the custody of U-S Marshals until they can be transported to a federal prison.
